STORY OF HERITAGE FUR BRAND..........

Established in Lyon in 1840, and later purchased in 1900 by Andrew JOANNARD, a furrier and manufacturer, the company comprises 240 employees by 1924. Andrew's children, Louis and Charles, eventually took over the firm, making it popular name throughout the country.

In 1925, the brothers opened a shop at 21 place bellecour in Lyon, a 300-square metre workshop designed by Louis Majorelle. The elegant styles of the fur pieces and their outstanding quality were maintained over the years, and in 1945, Andrew and paul JOANNARD (Charle's sons) received the prestigious "Arts" label for their fine products (the label has since been remplaced by Comité Colbert label).

In 1985, the firm's fifth generation of JOANNARD, Philippe and Bruno, opened a second store, and also began exporting their furs to Japan.

As the demand for fur increased once again en 2000, Philippe JOANNARD moved his family's store the 6th district of Lyon. Since then, he has designed his own signature collection of Joannard furs, combining style and excellence in quality, all produced in France.
